AA 5744 was a Recommended Book Powder for the .50 Cal Savage 10-ML. What Henry & Bill Ball the Inventors used. Very easily ignited, kind of Dirty Burning & Not the Best Velocity. Bill Ball’s preferred/recommended load was 42g 5744/300XTP in a MMP HPH12 out of his 24” 50 cal barrel.
